I was preparing a lesson for young women's about Christ and developing a personal relationship with Him as our Savior. I wanted the girls to be able to read about Him and record their thoughts in a special place where they could always refer to. Girl's Camp was also coming up in a few days and the scripture reading and journaling is also a personal progress goal, so...
I made these cute little books for each girl, and although I stayed up until 3:00 a.m. on Sunday morning finishing them, I am glad that I made these and the girls were so excited and loved them!!! I've already passed four girls off on their goal as well.
I went to Walmart and found these pocket-sized composition books. Originally I had something a little bigger in mind...but these were perfect and were 0.75 cents for a pack of three!
I pulled out my paper scraps and went to town. First I printed off of the computer the first letter of each girl's name. I didn't want anyone fighting over who got what color, so I randomly picked them. Then I cute papers to fit the outside of the cover by tracing the book on the paper. Cut and mod podge. Done! (This was very simple...but I have 13 Beehives..so was a bit time consuming)
I am lucky to live close to a Deseret Book so I popped in while running my last-minute Saturday errands and bought some of these little cards that fit just perfectly inside the cover!
