what the kids are saying

I came across some funny quotes while clearing off my desktop hard drive that i don't believe ever got posted. Now I need to go back and document funny things Zach has said because I'm pretty sure that I haven't been writing down much from the little fella.

Olivia-

  • “hi daddy!”
  • “no Brady!”
  • “hi mommy!”
  • “where daddy” (or brady, or mommy)
  • “ no wan dis”  (I don’t want this)
  • “wat-a-way-way” (water)
  • “drink”
  • “sleep”
  • “ah nigh nigh” (go night night)
  • “halt!”  (sticking hand out)
22 months:
·         “i need a driaaank!”  (drink)
·         does not like peas, carrots, cucumbers, grapefruit
·         "let’s go!  i all done!" (when we said amen at church and when we were on a plane and the plane was landing)
·         "more cereal!  i all done!"
·         “dere’s water everywhere!” (tub)

Brady:  (5 years)
·         “this is the best dinner i’ve ever had!”  (hamburger helper)  “i’m going to gobble it all up!!!”
·         he found a worm in the garden at my friend melodys' house when she was watching him and olivia and declared that he was a mexican worm and his name was to be Nacho Bozo Graf.
·         he became obsessed with the idea of having a mexican dog, specifically a chihuahua that he wanted to name “tortilla”

(while on a trip to Maine, June 2010)
Brady:
-“pizza, ug, they probably have canned lobster on it”
-"corn on the cob! yeah! they’ll suck on that for a week!" (feeding the chickens with grammie)
- there is a family in the yarmouth branch where we went to church that brady would call "the Sister Nancy Thomases" instead of just "the Thomases."  one of their sons' names is Tanner and he was around 12 when we moved to Idaho.  I asked Brady if he remembered Tanner and he said, "yeah, but the last time I saw him he was just a boy!
- we went on a hike up "the Beehive" in Acadia National Park with the Daltons, some of our good friends.  On the way up Brady told our friend, Greg "I'm not really a Jedi you know!"

Livy:
- "mom!!! shhhh! you go time out!"
-olivia was dragging a box down the stairs with her: "hi, you coming?...Was yur name? I'm Libia!"
-to our dog Captain: "Hi doggy!  Hi puppy!  Hi Taptain!!!  Hi doggy"  (...and repeat)

father's day 2013

since father's day is fastly approaching again, i need to get last year's photos on here.  somehow i missed an opportunity to get a picture with chris and the kids, or even with me!  we i got a great picture of him and his dad, his mom and dad and his sister chelsae, who made him some delicious brownies!

memorial day weekend with cousins.

now i'm going a little backwards here...

memorial day weekend we laid low and did what we did most of the year last year- house projects and yard work.  my cousins from montana had been down for the weekend camping in jackson and they invited us to meet up with them in ashton area for a picnic on their way home.  we found a great picnic spot along the warm river and had fun visiting and exploring.  we got to meet two new litte cousins, mariana (belonging to my cousins abe and sarah) and miella (belonging to my cousins alonzo and ashley).

my cousin ben fly-fishing in the river

zach and rajon had fun chasing each other around and playing "football"

i'm tired of packing and cleaning...let's reminisce about some summer fun from LAST year!

annual cousin week #1-
my sister-in-law nickie and i did a kid swap last summer, which we were hoping to make a yearly tradition....now they're moving to north dakota so we may have to figure out some logistical details!

i was able to go to girl's camp with my young women and paint our kitchen cabinets! of course the cousins love getting together too!

i took her three girlies for a week and we had as much fun as we could pack in! we got some slushies, took walks, went to a ward BBQ and swim party, play at parks, lots of dress-ups, movie nights and giggles.  i forgot my camera most of the time so i didn't get as many memories captured as i had planned.  these will have to do!

breakfast on my unfinished table-

playing at the park-

one evening after chris got home from work we headed up to Blacktail Reservoir for a slightly windy evening playing and swimming at the beach.  my youngest niece, evy loved the sand!!  she sat and played and dug in the sand for about an hour

as we packed up the car the kids took turns rolling down the grassy hill.

left to right: zach, evy, lexi, brady, choe and liv

when we got home everyone got their brown bodies thrown in the tubby to wash sand
out of hair and ears! (minus brady who has grown a little too old for this bath time tradition!)
