Corn MAIZE

Last Friday we were able to go down to Boise and spend the weekend with my cousin and his family. We had a lot of fun just hanging out with them and we took the kids to this fun corn maze and activity farm. Brady loved it and Olivia hardly said a peep in the stroller. She didn't get to do too much but it was extremely windy and cold so she stayed snuggled up!

This was a cool rumble slide made of PVC piping!

By far the weirdest looking chicken I've ever seen! They looked like Albert Einstein!

We watched some pig racing and saw "Juan Claude van Ham", "Arnold Swartzenhogger"
and "Kevin Bacon!"

Livy liked the corn box where you got to play in a sandbox filled with dry corn kernels. Brady wasn't as interested as I thought he would be. I think he was too distracted by all of the other stuff that he wanted to do!

Like jumping on the giant "pillow!!!" It was an air-filled bounce pillow and the kids absolutely LOVED it!!!

Chris showed the kids "the ropes!"

Future Rodeo Queen??? ...

...and King???

These were the sweatshirts all of the employees were wearing-
Chris took this picture, so I guess he thought they were pretty cool.

And there were pony rides. I didn't get very good pictures of this because #1 Brady wouldn't smile, or even look at me, and #2 Olivia is a baby so therefore there is no commanding her to smile yet!!! (Not that she's listen anyway!)
But Daddy did a good job helping her ride her pony!

We only did just a small corner of the corn maze but it was pretty cool seeing it in an aerial view. This year they did the penny with "In God We Trust" and "Honest Abe" written into the maze.

We had a pretty fun afternoon together- It was not New England but I got a little taste of it!!! We had some yummy navajo tacos, pulled pork sandwiches and even deep-fried oreos (Yes, at Chris' request!)

Firestation Fieldtrip

Brady got to go to one of our city Fire Stations here for a Preschool field trip and he had a blast!!!
They got the whole tour of the fire house and were insturcted on how to safely exit a fire, to have a family "safety" meeting spot in case there ever was a fire and how often to change the batteries in your fire detectors. I'm glad they learned all about this in preschool- it was a good remeinder for me that we need to be teaching him these very important things! One of the first things we do when we move into our new house is going to be to establish our family safety spot outside of our home, plan emergency escapes and teach Brady to call 9-1-1 or go tell a neighbor!

This is Mason, Logan and Eliza, some of Brady's little preschool friends. Can you tell who the jokester is?!?!

Lucy, Brady and Joshua-

What a handsome little dude!

Outside they pulled the firetruck out and turned the siren on for all of the kids to hear! They were all covering their ears! It was REALLY loud!!!

A group shot of all of the kids and their siblings (even Olivia got to participate!) and a couple of the firefighters.

I just wanted you all to know that tonight we survived a "TORNADO!!!!"

Updates on our house!!!

This is for all of my friends out there who have been quietly hinting and patiently waiting =)

There has been a TON of progress at our house over the last month so I'm finally updating the pictures! Since I last took these the exterior has begun to be painted, the lighting is all installed sprinkler system is in, driveway, sidewalk, walkways and back patio has been poured and sod will begin to go in on Thursday...

This is how the house looked as of this morning before they started painting the exterior. The siding that is on the house is masonite. I can't wait to see it painted!

The garage door will also be painted and have windows along the top panel.

These are pictures when sheetrock went up:

Then the walls were textured:

Now the walls are all painted, trim is up, laminate wood flooring is in, built-in bookcase by the fireplace is in, cabinets are installed (my FAVORITE part!!!!), tile floor is in, and countertops!

This is part of the entry way (right now everything is so dusty it's hard to appreciate my beautiful new floors!)

When the mantle is done it will have more white trim in the inside around the fireplace. We were originally going to do stone but we ended up not having enough wall space with the angled fireplace to fit the stone proportionately. The niche above the fireplace is where we'll hang a flat panel tv and then all of the components for the tv will go in the bottom cupboard of the built-in and we'll have open shelving up top.

The Kitchen: I - LOVE- IT!!!!

This is our bedroom. The rest of the house is a light tan and the office is a darker tan so I wanted something different for our bedroom. I love the sage/olive green and how it accents the tray ceiling!

This is the master bath floor- I had both bathrooms laid like subway tile and I love how it looks!

The kid's bathroom:

The office:

All of our closets have built-in shelving which we custom designed and I LOVE!!! This is the kid's bedroom and they have "twin" shelving:
