Day 5: Somesville Bridge Family Pictures, 50th Birthday Party, Sea Wall and Cadillac Mountain Sunset

This is one of my very favorite "spots" in the world...it is so beautiful and charming

Bryce and Shelby

My two brothers

50th Birthday Party!!!
We celebrated Annie's SUPRISE birthday party with her, Greg and their youngest, Andrew!  Greg did a great job and even had ballons, cake, ice cream, and appetizers: shrimp, goldfish crackers (for our young "friends" and strawberries)

Dad and Annie check out the birthday cake

Greg, mom and Brady singing "Happy Birthday!"

Annie blowing out the candles

Sea Wall:
After our little party we drove to the south end of the island to a rocky beach area with paths called Sea Wall for a nice Sunday walk

Greg doing what he does best- playing with the kids!

Sunset on Cadillac Mountain:
From there we drove back into Acadia National Park to drive up Cadillac Mountain (the highest point on the eastern seaboard) for a fantastic sunset...the pictures I got do not do the surrounding beauty justice!
It was cold and windy up there so Andrew wrapped Brady up inside his T-shirt!

You can see part of the sandbar that is just at the end of the road from our beach house

Day 7: LOBSTAH!

What good is a trip to Maine without its' finest delicacy???

Grandpa Morgan shows us his prized meal!!!

I thought Olivia might take a try...but after allowing me to take a posed picture with her and the lobster she wanted to move onto pizza...the alternate feast for my non-lobster loving husband and son!

Night of Day 6: Memorial Day BBQ

We have lots of wonderful friends in Maine who feel like family so we wanted to make sure that we'd be able to have some time with some of them.  Because we had spent the weekend in Bar Harbor we went to church up there and Chris wasn't going to be able to see anyone in the Branch so we invited some of the people most dear to us over for a Memorial Day BBQ.  We got home barely 20 mins. before guests started arriving but we had a wonderful time!!!

Not the best picture of my dad, "The Grillmaster" (with his mouth full) but having fun still the same!!!

Andrew's buddys brought some of their equipment and played us some "background" music.  Brady had a blast banging on the drums and strumming the guitar!

Chris and I both served in the youth when we were in Maine and these are a few of our young "padawans!"  Tanner, Jared and Bethany- what cute kids!

Bethany Knighton, my mom and Nancy Thomas enjoying the yummy food

"Bro. Woodside" as Brady always called him

Day 6: Mini-golfing at Pirate's Cove

Our whole family loves to mini-golf, something that we don't get to do out west because we don't have it where we live here in Idaho...

Making Pirate faces!!!

Bryce goes for the elusive hole in one!

Put-put Shelby!

Go Brady!  He LOVES to mini-golf!

Ahoy there Pirate!

I got two hole-in-ones and was in the lead the whole game until THIS darn hole got the best of me and I got a 6!!!

Chris ended up winning the game by a few points...Aarg!

Photography in Bar Harbor

Sometimes I can't help but walk around in a beautiful place and want to just take pictures of EVERYTHING.  I don't know why I have the need to capture things in "film"  but I really love photography!
