decisions. decisions.

i am going to be a little vague in this post.  those of you who are super close to me will probably gather what i am talking about and understand the situation.  all others, well, it probably won't make sense.

it's late.  i am tired.  i have a mountain of sewing to do because in a not-so-rare moment of insanity last saturday i told my kids that we would go to the fabric store and they could pick out some "spooky" fabric to make halloween pillow cases out of.

there is a load of laundry that i just started in the wash because i was just gently reminded by hubby who went to bed that he doesn't have a clean shirt for his 2:30 a.m. departure for work tomorrow.  yeah, that's right.  2 freakin' 30.  and it's not completely out of the norm.  when i say he just "went to bed," what i really meant was he just "went to nap."

we had date night tonight.  it was nice. time alone. together.  remembering why we like each other.  joking, having a nice time.  date night is awesome.

so, the decisions.

do we stay here.  in this very, very nice two bedroom apartment with our three beautiful minions and SAVE and PAY OFF debt.

OR-------------

do we shift focus from paying off debt and get into a little more (OK- a LOT more) debt by buying another house.  a house that i already feel is OUR house.  OUR HOME. a house that i haven't been able to stop thinking about for many  months now.

it sounds easy.  it feels right.

but there are many factors involved.  there are a lot of unknowns in our life.  it would be REALLY, REALLY NICE to finally be DEBT-FREE come summer-time, IF we stayed here.  it would also feel REALLY, REALLY nice to have a HOME again.

It is so hard to make those decisions... no fun being a grown-up sometimes! We just finished paying everything off(like last week!), and it feels SOOOOOO good! Every second of sacrifice feels worth it, I wouldn't change it!

Date night IS the best, glad you are doing that, and enjoying it. It makes everything better.

Oh. That's SO hard. I don't like those kind of decisions. And that's a pretty big one . . . especially with the uncertainty that always accompanies Chris's job. You two are so smart, though. You'll figure it out. Maybe there isn't a right or wrong answer. Maybe this is just one of those decisions that you get to make and as long as you have a plan for whether or not you end up staying long-term in SW Idaho, maybe you just do whatever you feel like. :)

Sorry if that sounds retarded, but I'm starting to wonder more and more how much the choices about some of those "big decisions" really matter. In the long run. I think the little choices we make day to day may play a far bigger role in our happiness outcome than things like what job we take, whether or not we buy a house, where we live .. . I don't know. That's just me, but I'm thinking that the Lord will guide us safely through the BIG things in life, as long as we are doing our best to take care of the "little" ones that make such a huge difference in who we are.

Anyway. Random? Check. Just what's been on my mind lately.
